Lifeline: Staying Safe at Home
Kootenai Medical Center Social Services oversees the local Lifeline® program, a personal response and support service for people in Kootenai and Boundary counties.
For over 20 years, Lifeline® has helped people nationwide preserve their independence by giving them the confidence to continue living in their own homes - doing things for themselves. This important service lets people know that whenever help is needed, it's just a button push away. To call for help, subscribers simply press the Lifeline® Personal Help Button they wear as a pendant or on a wristband.
The Personal Help Button activates a small, in-home communicator that automatically dials the Lifeline® Response Center. Within seconds, the call will be answered by a caring, highly-trained representative. We are there, when family or friends can't be - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Lifeline® immediately informs the caregiver and designated health care providers of any change in the subscriber's condition, thus minimizing complications and making sure they quickly get the right help.
Lifeline® costs only $40 to install and the monthly service fee is $30. For more information on Lifeline® and finding programs to help pay for this service, contact the Lifeline coordinator at (208) 666-2934 or visit Lifeline® Systems.
