Led by Kootenai Health's first cardiothoracic surgeon, Robert Burnett, M.D., a team of cardiac experts bring many years of cardiovascular surgery experience to Kootenai Heart Center. Each year, our surgical team performs some 200 open-heart procedures, including bypass and heart valve operations.

Interventional Cardiologist Dennis Cooke, M.D. led the development of interventional services at Kootenai. He and a group of dedicated physicians are known for their expertise in diagnostic studies of stents, pacemaker implants, and implantable defibrillators.

Meet our Diagnostic Cardiology team:
Our highly skilled diagnostic cardiologists are trained to see abnormalities in the heart by using medical tests including echocardiography, which uses sound waves to evaluate your heart. Their work can give Kootenai's medical team an important first look at your heart.
