Kootenai Health Wins National Excellence Award
Kootenai Health has received a national award for service excellence, placing it in the top 30 percent of participating healthcare facilities in exceeding patients' expectations, according to Avatar International Inc., a firm that annually surveys medical institutions around the country.
The recognition is based on patients' responses to questions about Kootenai's quality of care, reliability and individualizing patients' protocols. Kootenai is no stranger to the prize, having landed it frequently since 2002.
The Exceeding Patient Expectations Award is accompanied by a sculpture Kootenai will receive at a conference later this summer.
"This award is a true reflection of the commitment every staff member has to make each patient's experience here as positive as possible," said Joe Morris, Kootenai Health's CEO. "Service excellence is an important part of our mission here at Kootenai. Using an unbiased third party like Avatar gives us excellent feedback, which is incorporated in the planning process that shapes every aspect of our organization."
Avatar specializes in surveys and strategies that help healthcare institutions of all sizes around the United States to achieve consistent quality patient service.
