Sign up now for free, Oct. 19 car seat inspection

In anticipation of winter weather, Safe Kids Kootenai County will conduct free car seat safety inspections in Hayden on Oct. 19 Statistics show four out of five car seats are improperly installed and could fail in a crash.

Free inspections will be offered from 1 - 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19 at the Panhandle Health District's office, 8500 N. Atlas Rd., Hayden. Appointments are required. Call 208-666-2511 to reserve a time.

A limited number of brand new cars seats will also be available to those who qualify with a minimum donation of $5 each.

Kootenai Health is the lead agency of Kootenai County's Safe Kids organization, a volunteer coalition dedicated to child safety.  Learn more about Safe Kids at http://www.kootenaihealth.org// and click on services.
