Kootenai Cancer Center Receives Commendation
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - Kootenai Cancer Center has been awarded a three year Approval Award with Commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. This commission is made up of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
"This award just shows that we are doing a great job when it comes to serving our patients," said David Davenport, MD, Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Kootenai Medical Center. "With this award we earned commendations in eight out of the nine categories, which puts us in the highest category of service for patient care."
Although accreditation is only required every three years, Kootenai Cancer Center maintains an annual evaluation to ensure their patients continually receive the highest standards of care.
